Maldives, Mar 12

Another interesting stop! Maldives is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. It is a 100% Muslim country, and it’s Ramadan, so eating and drinking are not allowed in public before sunset. The residents are very conservative so bikinis on public beaches were forbidden. It is interesting to see people’s faith in action in all these wonderful places. It was a national holiday on the day of our visit so most of the businesses were closed. Luckily, we had other plans for our day.

Mary H went snorkeling and Mary M went to a private beach resort. Dave and Kevin were feeling slightly under the weather so they didn’t join us.

Some photos from the resort…

Some snorkeling photos…

Maldives is an perfect place to visit if you enjoy being in, on, and around the water. It was very cool to spend some time in the crystal clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean.

This was our last stop in Asia. We’ll be in Africa for the next several weeks. Looking forward to the upcoming adventures!
