From the port in Cadiz, we headed to Jerez de la Frontera for a stroll through the town, a visit to a winery, and a cooking demonstration.
Jerez is a lovely old town, and we enjoyed walking the cobblestone streets. Of course there was a beautiful church, very old buildings, and lots of great statues of historical figures whose names we cannot remember.

We visited the Tio Pepe winery and tried some sherry.

We had no idea that there were so many types of sherry…from very pale to very, very dark.

Then on to La Carbona Restaurant for an amazing cooking demonstration in the kitchen followed by a late lunch. Chef was great and explained everything in Spanish. We have learned a lot on this trip, but unfortunately have not yet become fluent in Spanish. Our guide did a great job translating.

We saw this cool wine glass fountain on the way back to the ship.
