Today we visited several small fishing villages and thriving towns along the A Coruna estuary.
Our first stop was in Pontedeume. A popular stop for those doing the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage whose route is marked with a seashell.

Next, we visited Betanzos, where we stopped for coffee, walked through their bustling market, and checked out several lovely old buildings.

Our final stop was in Oleiros, were the tide was very low. We viewed the lovely castle and did a bit of shoppping.

Upon returning to A Coruna, we walked around a bit. It is a lovely old town with quaint shops and charming restaurants. Once again, we wished we had a bit more time to spend there!

Okay…they weren’t all charming.

We met up with some friends at a cafe. The local wine was scrumptious, the beer was cold and tasty, but enjoying our friendships was the best part!
